Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March in 1991. She is an American singer-songwriter and the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In October of 2016 Ari Lennox debuted her debut EP Pho. This was the moment that she gained recognition. The album that she released as her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began posting her music to the internet in 2012 as she released her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. In 2014 she continued to release her music on the web, including her own launched single Bound. On July 21 2015 Omen featured her on his album Elephant Eyes with the track Sweat it Out. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville team at the time, wanted to have her work on Rihanna and Rihanna-related songs.
